The engine shuts off as if I shut the key off. I turn the key back then forward to run and it starts while truck is moving. Every time it shuts off I must turn the key back and it restarts every time. This happens when cold or warm. Moving down the road, when slowing down, when stopped. Sometimes it will pop through the intake side and or exhaust side. I have replaced the crankshaft sensor with no success. The new sensor had an extra single wire plug. So I cross referenced the part number and it matched for my engine. I am thinking, with the symptoms it has I may have a faulty replacement sensor.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

It does sound similar to the crankshaft position sensor. Have you checked for trouble codes? Here is a link that shows how to check codes. It should have one stored that will indicate where the issue is coming from.

The 1993 is an OBD 1 system. No scanner is needed.

Check that and let me know what you find.
