Hi, my car starts for about 1 to 2 seconds and then dies. I checked the battery and the gas tank is full. One of my buddies said it might be the fuel injector. Wanted to double check before I order the part. If it’s a fuel injector issue would it be able to start at all?

Hi,

If only one injector is bad, it could still start but don't throw parts at it without diagnosing the issue. If you were to purchase an injector, which cylinder would you install it for? There are 4 injectors. We need to narrow down the issue.

Does the check engine light stay on the short time the engine is running? Does it start right back up after it stalls? If you press the accelerator, can you keep the engine running? Did this happen all at once?

Based on your description, my first suspicion is the fuel pump is weak. But that is why we need to do some checking to confirm.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
