I've been told I've got a blocked or dirty DPF which is responsible for my van not turning over properly. I disagree and think it's either the battery which is only 2 years old or the starter motor being a bit lazy.

When they told you the DPF was plugged, were they basing this on something or just a guess? Did they actual look at the vehicle or just tell you that is the most likely cause?

If the DPF is clogged then it can cause a no start because this is basically just a plugged exhaust. However you would have codes and probably a check engine light. If you don't have this then you are probably correct that there is an issue with the starting system.

Can you get a video of what the vehicle is doing when it is trying to start?
