trany wont shift into od when driving

I have a 1988 gmc 3500 box van automatic,the trany works great exept when I get to 50mph or even 55 mph trany wont shift to a higher gear,the rpms scream at 50mph speed sensor?

no it may be a valve hung up or and adjustment along with an internal problem. have a trans guy look at it.
