Hello, I have a question for you. I have the van listed above, A/C. I am finally getting ready to change motor mounts and transmission mounts. You all have already told me step by step how to change them. What I need to know is this, can you tell me about how much the transverse member (crossover member under the engine) weighs? I need to be sure that I can lower it from the van and then raise it back up in place after I get the mounts replaced. I have replaced mounts in vehicles before, but I was a lot younger, now I am 74. I am sure that I can still do the job, but before I start, I really need to know the weight of the Transverse Member. My wife will help me, as long as the crossover isn't too heavy. Thank you, Bill H.

Hi Bill,

Are you asking about just the cross brace by itself? I imagine you are because if you are changing the mounts then you will brace the trans/engine and remove the cross member and reinstall it without removing either the trans or engine.

If I am correct, the answer is about 30 lbs. They are not very heavy. Light enough that one person can lift them but if you are on your back under the vehicle they are just cumbersome so an extra set of hands and you will have no issue.

Please let me know if this is not what you were looking for. Thanks
