I can replace the older transmission with Toyota's newer Multi-Drive 7s transmission?

i want to know if i can replace the older transmission with Toyota's newer Multi-Drive 7s transmission, can i do it ?

I would say no, the mechanical alignments would probably be different and the electronics would not be comparable, you may be able to over come these problems, but at a cost far out weighing the advantages, i have never heard of it being done, you may be able to get some info on Corolla Forums, you may want to try asking a few questions there as well.
