My car has a check engine light for torque converter clutch circuit open if that is any help. When I put it in any gear whether it be reverse d4 d3 or d2 it will start rolling. Well the moment I press more than the slightest bit of throttle or try to get to its shift point it pops out of gear and I have to put it in park turn it on and off like five times after letting it sit and then try again. What could be the issue?

Hello,

It sounds like the transmission torque converter has gone bad. which I would now replace the transmission because there is metal inside. This video shows how the job is done on a similar car the process is the same with diagrams below to show you on your car. Disconnect the battery first.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.
