Transmission not working properly

In order to put car in reverse and forward have to step on gas a little harder. Why?

Good afternoon.

It could be a clogged filter in the transmission pan. By increasing the engine speed you are pulling more fluid into the front pump.

I would start by changing the oil and filter in the transmission.
