I have the truck listed above and the transmission is shot thanks to a mud hole. I was wondering if I could swap the transmission out of a 1997 Ford f150 with the 4.2 motor 4x4 into my truck? the F150 is a farm truck I use to drive around the farm and it's on its last leg but the motor and transmission is still good. could someone tell me if the transmission out of the F150 would bolt up to the Ranger?

Hello,

That ranger uses 4R55E transmission and the F150 uses 4R75W.
Unfortunately they are not interchangeable. They also use different power train control module. And the Ranger is OBD I and the F150 is OBD II
So they are definitely not a bolt on solution.

Let me know if you got any questions.

Thank you.
