Gear shift cable replacement instructions

I drove the van to my new home parked it. The next time I tried to drive the van it cranked fine but when I put it in gear it got stuck in neutral. help please!

So when you move the gear lever the gear shift indicator stays in the same place? Also is the gear selector loose? if so it sounds like the cable went bad. here is how to replace it. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
