In all gears when lightly accelerating I seem to have the engine rev up (slip) always from 2200 rpm to 2600 rpm.
If I accelerate hard there seams to be no slippage. Is this needing a transmission re-build or does the torque converter need replaced?

first scan for codes, but with your description i would say time for a rebuild especially with miles on it. does it slip in all gears or just one? a transmission professional can diagnose this fairly quick as most of these have the same problems. See link.

You could try a transmission service but I doubt it will help much and additives do not work in my opinion.
