Got the dreaded solenoid code and lost overdrive. How do I change them? Do I have to drop the transmission or can it be done mounted through the oil pan? Also, where can I purchase the solenoids?

What transmission code did you get? It may not be the solenoid. May be the TCM, (Transmission Control Module) I have had many wiring problems on the Eclipse also. All kinds.

Also, the Solenoids are located inside the transmission, can be accessed by dropping the pan. But check for circuit or module problem first, ie going by the code number.

P1750 transmission solenoid assembly code. I guess from a little research, they are deep inside the transmission. You have to remove the pan, filter, and valve body to get to it. There is a ton of resistance tests you can do. To check each solenoid, but this does not look like an easy job by any means. I would erase the code and go for another test ride, I know you do not have OD, but see what codes come back. There also could be a problem in the harness between the TCM and transmission. I have found tons of corroded connections on the Eclipse that led me all over the place at times. Check circuits before tearing the transmission apart. I do not think the solenoids are very expensive, just hard to get to. Hope this helps some.
