I was driving and my vehicle shutoff on me at a stop light. I got the car to restart with no issue but when I put the car in drive it won't go an same with reverse. I don't want to play a guessing game just wondering what the issue could be.

Hello, first thing we need to do is scan the system for codes. Do you have a scanner of any kind that can be used? They are relatively cheap from Amazon, see here https://a.co/d/6QSW5is

Here is our article on scanning the CAN system: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/can-scan-controller-area-network-easy

Once we can read the codes we can have a direction on what needs to be done. Also if you have any videos / pictures please send them as well.

Thanks

Hello, judging by these two codes either the torque converter clutch solenoid is not working or the torque converter itself has failed and caused the engine to stall. I would see if you can feel the car engage in the various gears, even though it won't move. And if you're up to it we can begin some transmission diagnostics.

I have started the car and went through the different gears, and it seems as if they are all engaging but the vehicle still won't move. Sometimes it will go in drive and move but not reverse and then sometimes it will go in reverse and move but not drive.

It definitely sounds like the torque converter is failing. Typically you won't have movement in any gear, sometimes you can get it to go by flooring the gas pedal. At this point the transmission fluid should be inspected for proper level and condition, then drain and inspect what comes out of the bottom.
