My wife’s vehicle listed above XL model won’t start in park. After checking all fuses and troubleshooting I found it starts in neutral every time. I purchased a transmission range sensor from Dormans and its unlike any I see on the internet. Also, I’m having trouble finding videos on this subject on any vehicle this new or GMC’s. Is this an internal part that will require an actual mechanic’s shop to fix?

Hi,

The switch is internal and a bit of a pain to remove. It requires the removal of the valve body and the internal linkage to the parking paw.

I attached the directions below. Take a look at them and let me know if it is something I can help you with.

Take care,

Joe
