My truck won’t shift into 3rd or overdrive it just stays in 2nd won’t even try to shift into third. would it maybe be the solenoids?

Yes, it could be the 2-3 shift solenoid. If it is bad, the overdrive will not function.

I attached a picture of the location with the pan off for you. You need to verify power to the solenoid with the key on first.
