transmission problems

Well I change transmission in my truck it is a 1500 with a transmission out of a 2002 Dodge Ram and my neutral safety switch on my 1998 had a three wire plug and the 2002 had a five wire plug and I was trying to hook up the three wires to the five wires.

Here is the problem, I just looked up the years that work for your truck as far as the transmission.It shows 1996-1999 compatibility so the 2002 is different as you found out with the connector. I really do not know how your going to convert the three wire to a five wire. Also even if you get through that no telling what is going to happen when you start driving down the road. If it will shift right check engine light going off etc. When I do transplants I make sure they are compatible otherwise too much heart ache, wasted time and money.
