When I make tight turns my car feels like the wheels are binding up. Then it makes a loud popping noise like the gears are binding. My rear tire had uneven wear so I purchased new tires and replaced top control arm and before I could get it aligned when i put the transmission in drive there is a horrible grinding noise, but my reverse works fine.

Hey BART,

It sounds like you have a CV axle that is no good, when the axle wears it will make the noises you have described. Here is an idea on how to replace it.

Hello,

I would check to make sure the axles are fully installed inside of the transmission, one may have popped out.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
