When I make tight turns my car feels like the wheels are binding up. Then it makes a loud popping noise like the gears are binding. My rear tire had uneven wear so I purchased new tires and replaced top control arm and before I could get it aligned when I put the transmission in drive there is a horrible grinding noise, but my reverse works fine.

Hey BART,

It sounds like you have a CV axle that is no good, when the axle wears it will make the noises you have described. Here is an idea on how to replace it.

Let me know what you find

Best, Ken

Hello,

I would check to make sure the axles are fully installed inside of the transmission, one may have popped out.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
