Car starts shifts into all gears put on drive and car waits to slip in gear with light donk sound. Car stays in first gear just got a rebuilt transmission last year. Can I use some of same parts and how much is this going to cost me?

If by "can I use some of the same parts" you mean if you can use parts from your failing rebuilt transmission, I would recommend against it. You have to options; spend the money and send it to a transmission repair facility that can repair only the components that have failed. Or purchased a used transmission (hopefully with some parts warranty) install it and hope that this transmission is in decent shape and can last longer than the last transmission you purchased.

These transmissions can cost rebuilt $1,500.00 to $1,800.00 for the parts and about $450.00 to $550.00 Labor. A used unit should run between $500.00 and $600.00 US.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
