I recently serviced my gear with the right transmission oil and filter. After the servicing, the engine shuts down whenever I engage the gear. What could be the problem?

It sounds like you have one of two problems that has happened, either the TCC solenoid is stuck on or the torque converter has failing apart and needs replacement.

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Torque converter clutch control solenoid. Do you have the correct fluid in the transmission, those cars take a special kind.

No, I used a particular one I have been using since I got my car and it has never given a problem. The problem now is my mechanic doesn't know what TCC solenoid is, maybe he knows it by another name. Can u help in telling us where it is located ? Maybe this can help.
