transmission problem

transmission wont shift out of first gear has reverse manually shift does but still shifts hard. Does speedometer being stuck have any relevance to problem?

Hello,

Yes, the speedometer has everything to do with the transmission. It sounds like you have a vehicle speed sensor that has gone out and it needs to be replaced.

Here is a diagram to help you get the sensor replaced.
