I had my car jacked up because it feels like the front end wobbles. Jacked up and running and put it into gear and released the clutch and made an awful grind noise and stalled. It does, still drive without grinding when on the ground. Transmission or clutch?

This is neither. When there is no load on the tires and you let the clutch out it will grind. If you accelerate and get the tires spinning then you may get past the grinding but it is not easy. Basically when you let the clutch out you have a mechanical connection between the clutch disc and flywheel and with no load on the tires the gears in the transmission start bouncing and the grinding is them backing back and forth into each other.

Here is a guide that will help with this a little bit:

Let us know if you need other info but if the clutch works fine on the ground then don't worry about what happened when it was lifted. Thanks
