Transmission not shifting

Hi everyone. I bought the car listed above auto that had a failed transmission due to water damage from a broken oil cooler. The car was still pulling but had only one gear. I suspect it was in limp mode. I bought a second hand trans from a scrap yard; had it installed but the car still does not shift. I replaced the old TCM cause it was not idling with the one from the replacement trans. Should the car be reset only or is there a special process to sync the car with the new trans. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
