I'm working on a car at my shop replaced valve body and some electrical connectors and same results, car at first wouldn't go over 40mph, wouldn't shift into 3rd or final gear. I could clear codes, and the car would drive fine for 20 or 30 minutes and back to same shifting problems. Well as of now the car just shuts off after starting and trying to shift into gear, even with holding the gas pedal some but not showing any codes now either. What do you guys think?

It sounds like the transmission is going out, but can I ask what the codes were? I have seen a weak input shaft sensor cause the transmission not to shift correctly, also check the transmission fluid level and to see if it is burnt (smell it). Here is the location of the sensor if you want to check it out, also, see if the electrical connector has corrosion. We might as well check the connector at the PCM as well.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

No, it's like it's in Limp mode but after I run a scan and clear dtcs it runs fine for 20 or 30 minutes, fluid and filter and pan have all been changed as well as the valve body on the CVT Transmission, also have replaced connectors on the wiring that's plugs into the transmission, I'll see if I can find the log from my scanner and send it over.

That would be great, I have seen the solenoid pack go bad on these cars and cause this problem but let's see what the codes say first.
