My son and I have purchased a CRV and the transmission is leaking at the transfer case. We have removed the rear transfer assembly and replaced the o-ring and it still leaks at this connection. Not sure what to do next?

Thanks Ray

Good morning,

Is what you circled the source of the leak?

If it is, it should not leak there. Is that sealer I see coming from that area?

I attached a picture for you. Can you identify the seal you replaced?

1) Yes the circle is the source of the leak.
2) It is transmission fluid leaking out.
3) We replace the o-ring in the picture I added, circled in red also.

Thanks

Okay, was there any damage to the surface the o-rings sit on? Make sure there are no grooves or pits as it will cause the fluid to leak.

You are going to have to pull it again and re visit the area.

Here are some pictures I took prior to reinstalling it. From what I saw everything was in good shape.

The first video cut off most of the view of the inside of the housing.

I would like to see more of that.

Let me try just sending the video. The people we bought this off replaced the motor but not the transmission.

Okay, I got about a 2 second view.

Can you zero in on just the interior? I saw some marks in the housing but it was so quick, I could not see it to well.

They look good. I cannot see the surfaces that much.

I would use a micrometer and make sure the bore is not out of round and not tapered.
