My first gear is gone and making noise. What other years of transmission could I use. I need to know vehicle I can pick one out of and years of it. I think I have a 5r55e is my guessing I could be wrong. Please help me decide which is best way to replace.

Hello. Unfortunately, 1997 is a tough year for finding that transmission. 1997 does not interchange with any other years. However, you can find multiple options to have freight shipped to you on http://www.car-part.com

Personally, I love that site. I've found many engines and transmissions on there, all guaranteed and in the stated condition.

So take a look there. Good luck and let us know how it goes. If you're doing the job yourself, we're here to help.

I tried to look it up but I'm having some technical issues. The easiest way I can think of is to get you VIN number and call your local Mazda dealership. I think someone in the parts department would be able to look it up.
