Will the transmission out of a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.2L engine interchange with my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.2L?

Hello, I'm Danny.

The 1996 Ram came with either a 42RE, 46RE, or 47RE transmission. The 2001 Ram came with a 42RE, 44RE, or 46Re transmission. If you would like to give me your VIN (vehicle identification number) I could find out which transmission your trucks came with.
