Transmission gear change

Hello, I recently purchased this 4matic. very happy with it, however I noticed when going above fifty five to sixty miles the car does not change to the last gear and it runs heavier with higher rpm above 3000. It changes gear just fine when goes from first gear to fourth or third . I am just wondering if this could be a minor problem or a high cost problem.
