At what transmission temperature the transmission ATF level needs to be checked?

Hi,

When checking the transmission fluid, the engine should be at operating temperature. In a perfect world, you would want the trans to be between 160 degrees F and 170 degrees F. If the engine is at operating temperature, that is roughly where the transmission temperature will be. Make sure to slowly shift through the gears before returning to park. Also, make sure the vehicle is on a flat surface.
