Took the pan off the transmission to change the filter and gasket, but I don't see the filter. Only wires and hardware. The pan is not bottom mount like most cars, it is front mounted and the pan also houses the dip stick. Where is the filter and how hard is it to get to?

Hi,

The filter can not be accessed when the pan is removed. The only thing behind the pan is the transmission valve block. The transmission needs to be split in half to access the filter

Note there is a rubber o-ring that will most likely stay in the trans when you remove the old filter. Make sure to remove it and replace it with a new one.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.
