A P1753 code is usually related to the automatic transmission lock-up control system, commonly the lock-up solenoid / torque converter clutch solenoid circuit, not normally a clogged transmission filter by itself. I would swap out the control solenoid pack, fortunately it is easy because Honda did a great job designing the transmission. Check out the images (below). Please let me know what happens.

When you swapped the part out did you change the transmission fluid? If the fluid is worn out or low it can cause issues. Also, did you have the same problem before changing the part out?

No we did not change the fluid and it hasn’t been changed since I got the vehicle and it has 220000 miles which is why I asked how tk change the filter also and yes it has a similar problem just a different code resulting tk the solenoid lockup and now I get the 1753 with flashing drive light so hopefully the fluid change will fix it

The filter is more like a screen and it is not serviceable, (inside the case). I would drain the fluid out and refill with fresh fluid. If this does not help something inside the transmission might have failed such as the torque converter, also, I would swap out the shift solenoids again to make sure you did not get a defective part.

Umm I think there is a small spherical filter you can replace in the transmission and you just gotta unbolt some bolts and pull out the filler I believe it’s in a housing and seen some videos on YouTube about it

Umm I’d have to clean up the old part but if it is the torque converter the car is probably junk cause I do t have money to put in a torque converter

Yep, I seen those for the Accord but not the civic. Some have an inline filter you can look for like in this video:

If you don't see an inline filter it is inside the case.

Ok well it’s a 97 civic and well what happens if it’s inside the case? Just do a fluid change and about how many quarts would I need

You just leave the filter which is more like a screen. Automatic transmission:
You’ll need about 4 quarts of Honda ATF for a normal drain-and-fill.

Ok and if changing the fluid don’t fix this issue and it is possibly the torque converter then what are my options

The only option is to remove the transmission and replace the torque converter so lets hope the fluid change fixes it.

I would just drive it and hope what ever is causing it goes away but I think the fluid change will help. Let me know what happens after the service.
