Transmission fault the gear will not select?

When I am driving my gear will be select and once I attain 80mph speed, the gear will not select and stop on the select one may be 3, if I mash brake also it will not go back to one, unless I shift my gear lever to P and select it back to Drive. And if I use it manually it will do the same thing and I have replace the gear box still the same.

This can be caused by many things; can I ask if you have a check engine light on? We should run the codes to see if any are stored. This guide can help:

Does the engine seem to have good power? Because a clogged catalytic converter will cause this issue, and I have seen a weak input shaft speed sensor cause this problem as well. Here is the location of the sensor in case a code is stored for it. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
