Transmission up-shifts fine, but when slowing down to a complete stop, I rev it up and it's like it's in neutral. I shift to another gear and back and it goes in gear fine. Please let me know what it could be.

Good morning,

How long since you changed the fluid and filter in the transmission? It could be a clogged filter.

Beyond that, it could be a valve body issue with a valve sticking.

Good morning, we bought the car 6 months ago. The fluid looks new and no burnt smell. It has this problem sometimes, every so often. Could you send me information on how to check the shift solenoid, and also on my car, does the computer control the transmission.

Okay, there is only a solenoid for the overdrive or lock up for the converter.

The shifting is controlled by the throttle cable from the throttle body to the transmission.

I attached the procedure for you to adjust the shift points. By moving the adjustment back and forth, it will change gears higher or lower.

Roy

1. Ensure ignition is in the Off position.
2. Depress and hold metal adjustment tab at engine end of T.V. Cable, Fig. 4.
3. Move slider until it contacts fitting, then release tab.
4. Check cable for sticking or binding and road test vehicle. Recheck cable after engine has reached normal operating temperature, as cable may appear to operate properly with engine cold.
