What's the difference between a 1996 Dodge Ram 5.2 automatic transmission a 1998 Dodge Durango 5.2 automatic transmission? will it fit in the 1998 Durango both are 4×4?

Hello,

It depends on what transmission that they came with.

The Ram uses 46RE or 47RE transmission and the Durango uses 46RE or 44RE.

So, if both of them have the 46RE then the answer is yes.

Transmission identification numbers are stamped on the left side of the case just above the oil pan gasket surface.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
