Transmission control tube clamps in steering column

My gear shifter has been losse for awhile...and then the truck wouldn't start when ignition was engaged. The steering also would not lock, leaving me thinking that the transmission is not getting into park. I have inspected the steering column assembly and noticed a transmission control tube clamp is broken and bushing seems to be missing. Should I replace the clamps and bushings, steering column assembly, or what??

Yes, that is pretty common in those Fords. Ford sells all the parts individually to rebuild that shift tube and the bushings that hold it in. I think there are about 4 or 5 pieces to tighten everything up. The parts aren't expensive but they have to come from the dealer.
