My car will shift good from first gear all the way up to third gear when it reaches fourth it goes right into neutral, then don’t want to up-shift at all. When I switch it to manual to shift the gear the fourth gear goes into neutral as well. Today 1,2,3 gears are starting to do the same thing. They all go into neutral. When I shut the car off then start it back up it shift all the way up to third fine then starts acting up after driving for 5 minutes. Any one know what they would be? I’ve been told it would possibly be the Transmission Control Module. The vehicle has 109,200 miles.

Are there any codes set in the system? You can have a parts store read them for free.

How long since you changed the fluid and filter?

I would start with that. Beyond that, you have an internal failure and the transmission will have to be replaced.

Okay, that means there is a fault code. I need that code.

Okay, the 2138 is for the APP sensor which is on the floor. It is the gas pedal.

Checks need to be done to verify the failure.
