Hello,

The flashing D in the gear selector means that the transmission control module has detected an error. The flashing light means there is error code(s).
It could be a number of different things.
A good first step would be to scan the vehicle and retrieve those transmission codes. While scanning you will have to make sure that the scanner is capable of retrieving transmission codes.
Knowing the codes can help with the diagnostics.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
