Sometimes my transmission will not shift and take off?

Sometimes my transmission won't change and take off and if you turn it off and turn it back on while you going you never change and sometimes it works just fine.

The first thing I would do is check the transmission fluid condition and level; this guide can help:

I would also run the codes to see what comes up.

If no codes come up, I would service the transmission.
