This flashing is a fault warning, you need to get the codes read and if you need further assistance post the codes here.

No, because the transmission faults are generated by the transmission in 95% of the cases, check the codes first to see what they refer too first

You will require an OBD reader, some spare parts outlets will do a scan for free, but you can purchase a generic scanner fairly cheap, cheap scanners will only give codes with no definitions.
