Engine shuts off when transmission put into drive and when stopping

Vehicle shuts off when I put it in drive, stopped at red light and shut off again. Engine runs great had to rev it then put it in drive and ran fine again. Nissan wants to replace transmission. I know it cannot be that. It runs fine no jerks or slips.

Yes, I have seen this problem before. I would do a full tune up using OEM parts and I would disconnect the battery and service the throttle bore thoroughly. Here are two guides that should help:
