I recently did a transmission fluid drain and refill, I was wondering if a new transmission filter was necessary if they 1.3 hybrids even come with them?

Hello,

There is a filter for the CVT, located inside of a housing on the upper side of the transmission. You will have to remove the battery to access it.
Interestingly the standard fluid change does not require changing of the filter. However, it is a good idea to replace it.
You will need 3.1 quarts of ATF-Z1 transmission fluid.

Here is a helpful video on how to change the filter:

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
