When I first start my car it shifts into gear with no problem, but then if I wait or try to drive it even two minutes later it will not drive no matter what gear I put it in. I am trying to find out if I need to replace the whole transmission because I put a transmission filter kit and it is doing the same thing.

Good morning.

From your description. It sounds like you have an internal failure in the transmission.

It sounds like either the front pump or the torque converter has failed.

Was there any metal in the bottom of the pan when you replaced the filter?
