when my wife was driving suddenly the d4 light came on and the traction control light came on and it did not want to pull. so she stopped and put in park when she went to drive again it would not go. it was like it was in park. when we got home I got in and it would not drive. I put it in neutral and it would drive forward but when I put into drive or reverse it was like it was in park. any suggestions?

It is most likely an electrical problem in the transmission controller but it could be an internal failure as well. To find out without guessing you need to take it to a shop and have them run a scan and see what codes are stored in the system. The scan will give you a lot more information to decide what you want to do.
