Father-in-law was driving and he stopped, it would go into gear or reverse then when he got it to go back into drive now it's stuck in one gear and won't shift, and the speedometer isn't working now either. I'm thinking speed sensor or shift solenoid or control module. What do you say? It's throwing po700 and a mis in cylinder 1.

My first thought is a speed sensor. The P0700 is a generic code. It is set when the transmission control module identifies a problem. The TCM sends a signal to the powertrain control module (PCM) to turn on the check engine light.

I need to know if this is the 2.4L 4 cylinder or the 2.5L V6.

Let me know. Also, let me know if there are any other codes present.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to know that took care of the problem, the speedo is correct, and it is shifting normally.

As far as the misfire, are there any new codes that have been set?

Let me know what I can do to help.

Joe
