It feels like the brakes are locked up. Sometimes I can drive it a mile and the next time maybe a half mile. Have changed brakes, brake lines, and abs sensors. Have been told its the transmission control module. To expensive to replace if that's not it.

Is there any excessive heat coming from the brake / wheel area that would indicate they are getting hot? Also, if the TCM is going bad, that should have set a diagnostic trouble code. Most likely the check engine light would be staying on with the engine running. Has someone scanned the computer to make the suggestion to replace the TCM?

Next, when you notice the problem, does the engine run differently such as develop a misfire? Has anyone checked to see if the catalytic converter is plugged?

Sorry for so many questions, but there are many things that can cause what you described.

Let me know.

The code reader did say it was the TCM but when I searched for symptoms it didn't mention the slowing down to a stop so I didn't know if it might be something else on top of the TCM.No to the rest of the questions.

Do you have the code? I should be able to identify things and find diagnostic flow charts.

Let me know.
