Four second whining noise after driving through water, could it be the transmission?

I recently had my transmission fail and I replaced it (for $4,000.00) now tonight after driving through standing water I had a four second whining noise though the car drove normally. Are these issues related? Otherwise, what would possibly cause the whining?

Hi,

Chances are it isn't related to the transmission. If you ran through a lot of water, I suspect one of the accessory drive belts got wet and you may have heard it slipping.

Has the noise stopped and not returned?

Let me know.

Joe

Yes, the noise stopped and didn’t return. My mechanic said not to worry about it. He told me pretty much what you said.

Hi,

At this point, I feel he is correct. If by chance it happens again, please feel free to come back and let me know. We'll figure it out together.

Take care and I hope you have a great Christmas.
