When it is time to shift i have to let off the gas to get it to shift. It also has a slap shift. Could i use the slap shifter instead of letting it shift its self

old fluid in a trans in ayear doesn't really mean a lot as far making stuff shift etc.check fluid level and for color if you can, if dark brown or black then go to a trans shop. Or you could try a fluid change if you liked. then drive it for about a couple of weeks and see if it straightens out it may. if not have a trans guy look at it.
