Clearly the vehicle sitting with no transmission in it is not the best but if that is all that is wrong with it then I would fix it and then sell it if you don't want it.
If you have a wholesaler like this purchase the vehicle with no transmission in it then they will give you a fraction of what it is worth. It can't hurt getting an estimate but these companies only make money by buying vehicle for less then what they are worth. Which means if you fix it and then sell it, you are making that difference and not them.

As for any other damage, there would not be any as long as the vehicle was stored in a safe place. However, if it were outside, then it may need a good cleaning and then the battery may need replaced. However, the tires may be find but again, this is going to be something you are going to want to inspect when it is repaired. Along with the brakes.
