Hello RUSTY61
Welcome to 2CarPros. Com! Replacing the speed sensor is a good move but if it fails then there must be another reason. I am suspecting a lot of things. It can be a failing transmission control module, bad transmission solenoid in the valve body or maybe just a simple vacuum hose. Please check the vacuum hoses if it is connected properly. Please replace worn out hoses that can cause vacuum leak which may lead to transmission problems.
You may want to try the reset procedure as well. Please remove the negative battery connector and let it sit for five minutes or more before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get it back to its normal operating state. By the way, the odometer issue has nothing to do with it. It must be a cluster problem that needs replacement.
Hope this helps and please let me know if there is anything else I can add or help you with. I will be standing by for your response. Thank you for choosing 2CarPros. Com.
Regards,
Relly
