When I put my vehicle in drive it goes in reverse but when I put in low and work my way back up to drive works fine. What could be the problem?

Sounds as if there is a problem in the valve body, oil is being misdirected, this really needs to be check first hand by a trans tech, they will be able to do a few hands on tests to help determine the cause of this problem.
